Details of Volunteer Opportunity

Description of Duties: Directors/Board members are expected to attend regular meetings, participate in discussion and decision making, as well as participate in committees and special events.

Skills Required: We are currently looking for community minded people with an interest in philanthropy and how they might contribute to building a lasting legacy in our community. Past board experience is an asset but not required. Fundraising experience would be an asset. Skills of interest are: writing, event planning, web design and management, media relations, financial planning and fund management expertise. Donor stewardship and strategic planning skills are also of interest.

Skills gained/Related Careers: Knowledge of board governance, working with non-profits and working collaboratively with other board members.

Time: Evenings, 10 monthly meetings lasting approximately 2 hours, no board meetings are held in July, August, and December. An additional commitment to sub committees is expected and level of commitment can vary throughout the year.
